Interestingly enough, locations of myofascial trigger points, meticulously researched by Dr. Travell and Dr. Simons, show 95% to 98% of correspondence to the locations of the acupuncture ( Shiatsu) points which existence was discovered on the East more then 2000 years ago.

These resent findings of the Western medical research on trigger points and myofascial pain patterns shed new light on to the understanding of the mechanics of Acupuncture and Acupressure (Shiatsu).

Each of them is a product of Western and Eastern medical thought respectively.
